Stop Execution in Iran
Just imagine, for 63 days remaining clueless about the wellbeing of your both teen children. This was the beginning of a living nightmare for the parents of Mohammad and Ali, who are only 17 and 16 years old. After such a long time staying in the dark, a lawyer from court got in touch with their parents, informing them that teens are charged with waging war against God.
Mohammad is an 18-year-old boy who grew up in poverty in the slums of Tehran. His father took care of the family by dumpster diving, and was delighted and proud that he had a son that one day could uplift the family’s financial situation. Despite being poverty-stricken, Mohammad is dashing and high-spirited.
Sahand is an average Joe with a great sense of humor. He works retail in Tiraje Plaza in the capital, and is passionate about sports and cars. He was arrested from his home on September 4 2022, with the accusation that he had set a public metal barrier on fire in a protest near his workplace. He says he just relocated the barrier out of concern for his new motorcycle as he was getting to work.
Their tiny village is located close to Oshnavieh, in the most northern west part of the country, surrounded by high mountains which remain cool even at the height of summer. The region is one of Iran's landscape treasures, especially in spring when a million cherry trees bloom. Both brothers were born years after the city was bombarded by chemical bombs on 2 August 1988 during Iran-Iraq war.
30-year-old Saeed Yaghoubi was arrested in Isfahan on November 18th, and accused of taking part in the death of an IR security officer. The judge charged him with Waging War against God and in an unjust court without a lawyer of his choice and any solid evidence, and sentenced him to death. His life is in imminent danger.
Shayan Charani, a young man from Karaj, was attending the 40th-day memorial of Hadis Najafi, a young woman killed by IR forces during protests, to pay his respect. That day, he was arrested along with 14 other people, all accused of taking part in the death of an unofficial IR force in the ceremony.
Known for his calm and kind character, Reza is the father of two. He is charged with spreading corruption on earth. In other words, he is considered a threat to societal and political well-being. But when you listen to his story in the court, there is no evidence indicating how and why he deserves such a grave accusation.
Amin Mehdi is a teenager. He was arrested on 5 Nov 2022 along 14 others who collectively are accused of taking part in a sequence of events that lead to death of an unofficial Revolutionary Guard Corps in the 40th-day memorial of Hadis Najafi, a young woman killed by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in the protests following the death of #MahsaAmini.
Ebrahim was born in the South East of Iran, bordering Pakistan and Afghanistan in a region that despite having natural resources and mines is suffering from extreme poverty. Ebrahim, a compassionate medical intern, was arrested by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps on Oct 13 2022, on his way back home from the hospital.
Amir, a noted Iranian football player, has been accused of Baghi which is a crime similar to waging war against God in Iran's Islamic Judiciary. The difference between waging war against God and Baghi is that the former refers to acts that are against the safety of the society and latter is against the government. Despite the technical difference in the definition of these terms, death penalty is the verdict for both.
Hossein Mohammadi is a 26-year-old artist and theater actor who was attending the 40th-day memorial of Hadis Najafi, a young woman killed by IR forces during protests, when he was arrested along 14 other people, all accused of taking part in the death of an unofficial IR force in the ceremony. Although there is absolutely no evidence that he harmed anyone, Hossein has been charged with corruption on earth and sentenced to death.
Mohsen is one of the young protestors who was arrested, detained, tortured and convicted in an unfair trial. Just like many others, there is not much public information on him. One possible explanation could be that families have been threatened to keep quiet or they have been told that by doing so, their family member could receive a reduced sentence.
Manouchehr, a middle aged man, was arrested on his way to meet up with a friend with the
accusation that he had set fire to a community parking lot during the protests over the death of #MahsaAmini. Like many others he was tried in a bench court with no access to a lawyer of his choice.
Akbar saw a wave of protestors running for their lives. The security forces of Islamic republic had opened fire on empty handed people, directly shooting at them. Akbar could stay aside and just watch people getting shot and injured, but he decided to risk his own life and security. He opened his house door to people to save their lives.
Like hundreds of others, Mohammad participated in the 40th-memorial day memorial of Hadis Najafi. Hadis was a 22- year- old girl, who got killed in absolute innocence by the Islamic revolutionary guard. After this event, Mohammad got arrested with the accusation of murdering a paramilitary force, called Basiji. A claim with no supporting evidence whatsoever.
Saeed is one of the first protesters to be arrested. He is accused of leading the protests and encouraging people to take part in it. He has been convicted of waging war against God and corruption on Earth, which are crimes punishable by death based on the Criminal Codes of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI).
